BRAND STORY//VISUAL BRANDING// MESSAGING // BRAND VIDEO

In 2022 Holly launched to create a more equitable entertainment system in Hollywood. After navigating the system himself, Terrance Howard wanted to extend a ladder to up-and-coming creatives looking to make a name in Hollywood. Holly is a digital platform that allows artist to network, audition, and seek funding for projects. I was brought in to build a creative team and creative direct them to establish a brand, both visuals and messaging, for the company ahead of its equity raise in the fall of 2023.

Brand video and narrative

The primary use case for the brand was to create a brand launch video to kick off the crowdfund. Many of the themes we explored in positioning and messaging are best articulated in the piece below. It’s pretty well-acted too. The script was written and creative-directed by me. It was produced and directed by BRNDMKRS.

Logo creation

Terrence Howard is passionate about sacred geometry and the deeper meaning behind geometric forms. We are passionate about making our clients happy.

The mark was inspired by the geometric similarities between a classic film reel and major sacred geometry symbols, such as Metatrons cube, the Flower of Life, and the Fruit of Life. In sacred geometry, the circle symbolizes cycles of change, unity, perfection, and inclusivity - all of which reflect the Holly brand strategy.

The “H” on its own is a nod to an old film strip. The two colored dots represent the relationship between investor and the creator, with the middle dot (Holly), connecting them. The logo was designed by Dallas Ford and creative director by me.

Brand Guidelines

Our raise-stage brand guidelines included messaging guidelines, color palette, patterns, typography, photography style, and brand extensions. The Holly development team used this to create the Holly website and app.
